How do you present a new project?

The first contact with UMANA MENTE is by telephone. You will speak with a member of our evaluation team who will proceed to send you an application form. On this form you will need to include information on the organisation applying and a draft of the project you intend to submit. If the organisation meets the necessary parameters and the project satisfies the current year’s guidelines, the evaluation team will take the application into consideration and, based on a series of indicators, decide whether or not to present it to the Management Board who will deliberate on funding.

Do you have any current calls to tender?

UMANA MENTE does not work through calls to tender. An organisation may contact the Foundation at any time.

Where can we find the form with which to request funding?

The form may not be downnloaded through the internet. The form will be supplied to the organisation once its application is ready to be presented to the Management Board.

What is the maximum amount of funding that can be awarded?

The amount of funds granted on behalf of UMANA MENTE depends on the project’s complexity and on the number of organisations involved in its realisation. Usually, the funds awarded go from €50,000 to €200,000 for two years.

Do you fund foreign projects?

No, the foundation only operates on the national territory.

Do you fund renovations and refurbishments?

Renovations calling for small budgets only are funded and only with regards to interventions connected to important and well-established projects and organisations.

For how many years do you award funding for projects?

The first fund awarded usually covers a two-year period, with the possibility of an integration, prior a written request is presented to the Management Board should the project need more time to establish itself.

What kind of organisations do you award funds to?

UMANA MENTE does not award funds to help the sustainment of the organisation itself, but to support those services which respnd to the needs of a given territory. Therefore, it is of fundamental importance for the Foundation that the organisations have both the necessary competence and a well planned and executed project as well as the intention of creating a true partnership with UMANA MENTE.
